Tessellogic Privacy Policy
This page explains what information the Tessellogic app for Android uses, who receives it, and what parents and players can do about it. Tessellogic is a puzzle game for all ages, including children, so we've written it for parents as well as players, and kept it as short and plain as we can.
Who we are
Tessellogic is a puzzle game from Plumwit, a small games studio. Plumwit is a studio name of ONE LANGUAGE G.Y.E LTD ("we", "us"), 21 Schocken, Tel Aviv-Jaffa 6653207, Israel, which publishes the app. We are responsible for the app and for this policy (under European law, we are the "controller").

- This policy: plumwit.com/tessellogic/privacy/
Plumwit is a small studio. Tessellogic is made by humans and AI together. The app itself doesn't send anything about you to an AI service.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-in. The app never asks for a name, email address, phone number, photo, voice or contacts, and it has no chat or way for players to talk to each other.
- Puzzles and progress stay on the phone. We can't see them.
- We treat every player as a child. We don't ask anyone's age. Instead, every ad request from the app is marked as "child-directed", for players of all ages.
- Ads keep the game free, and they are never personalized. Ads come from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad between some levels, and an optional "Ad hint" that a player can choose to watch. Ads are not based on what a player did in other apps or websites, there is no remarketing, the device's advertising ID is not sent, and ads are limited to Google's "G" (general audiences) rating.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own. The app doesn't include Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics or any other analytics or crash-reporting service of ours. Google's ad SDK does list analytics among the purposes of its own data collection (see "What leaves the device").
- No in-app purchases.
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
In kid-friendly words
Your puzzles and stars are saved only on your phone. We don't know who you are, and we never ask your name. Tessellogic shows ads so the game can be free. Those ads come from Google, and they are picked to be OK for kids. Google gets some technical information from the phone so it can show an ad, but it isn't allowed to use that information to follow you around with ads. If you have a question, ask a grown-up to email us.
What stays on the device
The game saves on the device: solved levels, progress, stars, daily-puzzle results, tutorial status, your settings, a list of levels you've already rated with the in-game "how fun was it?" step, simple per-level play stats (moves, time, hints) used to show your results, and a counter that keeps ads from appearing too often.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. It's deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. The app is set up so that this data isn't saved in your Google backup.
Google's ad and privacy-message tools may also store small technical settings on the device, for example to limit how often an ad is shown.
What leaves the device, and who receives it
The game itself doesn't send anything to us. We don't run servers for the app. The only company that receives data from the app is Google, through two Google software components in the app.
1. Ads: Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)
Google says its Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares the following data automatically "for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention purposes" (Google's descriptions, quoted):
- IP address: "Collects device's IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of a device."
- User product interactions: "Collects user product interactions and interaction information, including app launch, taps, and video views."
- Diagnostic information: "Collects information related to the performance of your app and the SDK, including app launch time, hang rate, and energy usage."
- Device and account identifiers: "Collects Android advertising (ad) ID, app set ID, and, if applicable, other identifiers related to signed-in accounts on the device."
In Tessellogic, the Android advertising ID is not sent: the app doesn't include the permission that lets apps read it on Android 13 and later, and on every Android version each ad request is marked child-directed, which tells Google not to send it. The app set ID (an ID that is the same across apps from the same developer on that device) and, if applicable, identifiers related to accounts signed in on the device may still be collected by Google. Ad requests also carry basic technical details such as the device model, Android version and language. Google encrypts this data in transit.
Because every ad request from the app is marked child-directed, Google says it will:
- not show personalized (interest-based) ads and not use remarketing
- not send requests to third-party ad vendors, such as ad measurement pixels and third-party ad servers
- apply its ad-serving protections for children
- not transmit the Android advertising ID
The ads you see are contextual: they are chosen from what is happening right now (this app, the general location, the language), not from a profile about the player. They are also limited to Google's "G" rating, meaning suitable for general audiences. We use only Google's own ad network in the app, with no other ad networks.
2. Privacy messages: Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK
Each time the app starts, the UMP SDK checks with Google whether a privacy message is needed in the player's region. The app tells it that the player is under the age of consent. Because of that, the UMP SDK doesn't ask for consent and doesn't show a consent form. To answer that check, Google receives technical information such as the IP address and the app's identity.
What we see
We see only aggregated reports in our AdMob account, such as how many ads were shown and how much they earned. We don't see information about individual players, and we can't link anything to a person.
Sharing a daily result
When a player taps Share after a daily puzzle, the app copies a short line of text to the device's clipboard: the game name, the date, the stars and the number of hints used. The player can paste it wherever they choose, or not at all. It contains no personal information, and we don't receive it.
Children and parents (US COPPA)
Tessellogic is designed for players of all ages, including children under 13. Apart from the technical identifiers described below, we don't collect personal information from children: no name, contact details, photos, voice or precise location. We have no accounts, no chat, no social features and no way for a player to publish anything.
Technical identifiers, used to run the app. Through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google collects information that the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) treats as personal information, including the IP address and the device and account identifiers listed above, together with the interaction and diagnostic data linked to them. We've set the app up so that this information is used only for what COPPA calls "support for the internal operations" of the app:
- serving contextual ads
- limiting how often ads are shown (frequency capping), and measuring and counting ads in aggregate (what Google calls analytics)
- protecting the security and integrity of the app and the ad system, including detecting ad fraud
- keeping the app and the ad system working properly
How we make sure these identifiers aren't used for anything else. Every ad request is marked child-directed, which tells Google to switch off personalized advertising, remarketing and third-party ad-vendor requests and not to transmit the advertising ID. This applies on every Android version. The app also doesn't include the permission that lets apps read the advertising ID, which blocks access to it on Android 13 and later. The app limits ads to the "G" rating. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own, and it includes no measurement library of our own. We use no other ad network. These identifiers are never used to contact a specific person, build a profile about a person, or show behavioral (interest-based) ads.
Which companies collect information through the app: ONE LANGUAGE G.Y.E LTD (us; contact details above) and Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, through the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the UMP SDK described above. Please send any questions about children's information to us. We'll answer them and, where needed, pass them to Google.
Parents' rights. A parent or guardian can at any time ask us to:
- describe what information is collected through the app
- review any personal information about their child that we hold
- delete it
- stop any further collection or use
Write to info@safa1.co.il, call +972 9 956 0746, or write to the postal address above. We hold no information about individual players, so in most cases the answer will be that there is nothing to review or delete on our side. We'll tell you exactly that. To stop all further collection through the app straight away, delete the app from the device. For data held by Google, we'll explain how to contact Google, and we'll pass your request on if you ask us to.
If a child emails us. We'll use the email only to reply to that one message, and we'll delete it, including the email address, once we've replied. We won't use it to contact the child again or for anything else, and we won't share it. If a question needs more than one reply, we'll ask a parent to contact us.
How long information is kept (our retention policy)
| Information | Why it is collected | How long it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Game data on the device (progress, stars, settings, ad counter) | To run the game | Until the app's storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Never sent to us |
| Technical data collected by Google's SDKs (IP address, device and account identifiers, user product interactions, diagnostics) | Advertising (contextual ads, frequency capping), analytics (aggregated ad measurement and reports), fraud prevention and security | We never receive it. Google keeps it under its own retention policy |
| Aggregated AdMob reports (no individual data) | Running and paying for the free game | As long as we need them for accounting and legal duties |
| Emails from children | To reply to that one message | Deleted once we've replied, including the email address. Never used to contact the child again |
| Emails, letters and call notes from parents and other players | To answer your question or request | Deleted within 90 days after we've finished handling your request, unless the law requires us to keep them longer |
We never keep personal information collected from a child for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and we never keep it indefinitely.
Why we use information (legal bases, EEA / UK / Switzerland)
| What happens | Information | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping progress and settings on the device | On-device game data | Needed to give you the game. Nothing is sent to us |
| Showing contextual, non-personalized ads that keep Tessellogic free, limiting how often they appear, and measuring and counting them in aggregate | IP address, device and account identifiers, user product interactions, diagnostics (handled by Google) | Our legitimate interest in funding a free game, balanced by the child-directed protections described above |
| Detecting invalid ad traffic and keeping the ad system secure | As above | Legitimate interest in security and fraud prevention |
| Answering emails and requests | Your email address or phone number and your message | Legitimate interest in replying to you, and our legal obligations |
We don't rely on consent from children, and the app doesn't ask players to agree to personalized ads, because they are never shown. There is no automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on anyone. Google also has its own responsibilities for the data it processes, under its policies linked below.
Where information is processed
We're based in Israel. Google processes data on servers around the world, including in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The European Commission recognizes Israel as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where other transfers need safeguards, they rely on the safeguards in Google's terms, such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Everyone: contact us at info@safa1.co.il with any privacy question or request.
Parents in the US: see "Children and parents" above.
EEA, UK and Switzerland: you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing (including processing based on legitimate interests), and receive it in a portable format. A parent or guardian can use these rights for their child. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that's the ICO.
Israel: under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 (as amended, including Amendment 13, in force since 14 August 2025), you have the right to review personal information about you held in a database, in Hebrew, Arabic or English. You can also ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date. Giving us information is voluntary, and the game works without it. You can complain to Israel's Privacy Protection Authority.
United States (state privacy laws): we don't sell personal information, we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. You can still ask us what we hold and ask us to delete it. We won't treat anyone differently for using these rights.
How requests work without accounts: because Tessellogic has no accounts and we hold no player-level data, we usually can't link any data to a person. When you write to us, we'll explain what we can do. We reply within the time the law requires, for example one month under the GDPR.
Security
Data sent by the Google SDKs in the app is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS). We don't run our own servers for the app. We collect as little as we can, and only the people who need it can access our Google AdMob account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information, including a written information security program covering the little information we handle.
This website
This policy is published on the Plumwit website, plumwit.com, which is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no scripts, and it has no forms. Like most web hosts, GitHub records visitors' IP addresses for security purposes under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. We don't receive those records.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Tessellogic handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll also say so in the app before the change takes effect. We won't start collecting personal information from children in a new way without first giving parents notice and getting their verifiable consent where the law requires it.
